2002 Saturn L300 V6 73,000 miles. Yellow service light lit & Cruise control stopped working. All fuses checked and found OK except for the 15 amp brake fuse (located just behind the 2 amp cruise fuse). Replaced that fuse. The service light no longer lights (except at startup diagnostic phase) but the cruise control is still non functioning. No codes currently showing in computer memory. Aside from this problem, the car sounds normal, runs great and even looks great. Any suggestions?

Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will do my best to help you with your Saturn problem.Do all of the brake lights operate, including the center brake light?
Yes, all brake lights work . By the way David. I think your site said that you are from NJ. Although I'm now in Arizona, I lived in Neshanic (near Flemington).
I'm from Texas, don't believe I've ever even been to NJ. Since there are no codes in the computer, cruise control operation should not be inhibited. Does your scan tool show live input data to the computer? If so, do you show input for the cruise control on/off switch, set and accel buttons?
The scan tool was provided by O'Reilley Auto Parts and was used in static mode at their site. They did not mention anything about live input, but the cruise power switch light can be turned on or off via the wheel mounted switch.
The power switch should work then. The set switch still needs to be checked. Scan tool is the easiest way, but this can also be tested with a voltmeter or test light. The dark blue wire coming out of the column should have power when the Set button is depressed. Also test the brake switch. Make sure there is power on the pink wire to the brake switch with the key ON and power on the Brown wire as well. Depress the brake pedal and power on the Brown wire should go away. Let me know what you find after these tests are done.
Pink & brown OK, but no power to dark blue when set pressed
Are you still with me Dave?
Given these results, what do you suggest I do?
Hello!!
Please respond. I will then accept and close.
Sorry for the delay. No power at the dark blue wire indicates that the Cruise Set switch is faulty and will need to be replaced.
