2005 saturn ion: Power Steering..align..new motor gear..motor back

This answer was rated:

when relacing a Power Steering assist motor on a 2005 saturn ion do i need to align any marks in the steering column with the new motor gear when attatching the motor back onto the steering column?

Hello and welcome to Just answer.com, Super mechanic here. About your vehicle.

There aren't any marks to line up on it.

Note: The power steering assist motor should engage evenly and with ease. If the motor will not engage the reduction unit then remove the motor and try again. Do not force the motor and reduction unit together.

I have the instructions in a PDF format that you can download HERE then you just click where it says “Click here to start download” Thanks
