my 1993 sl2 saturn automatic seatbelt has stopped working. is there an easy solution to fix this or do i need to take it in to have serviced? there is no motor sound or movement at all on tn the driver's side. can the seatbelt hookup be moved manually to a useable position if needed

Hello and thank you for your post. I am a master certified GM tech, with 15 years Saturn experience,and can help you to resolve your issue.
the auto seatbelt, once dead is usually a very expensive repair.
The inexpensive solution is to install a manual latch at the back pillar.
From the factory, the latch was in the glovebox. It is a shiny metal latch sticking out of the left side of the glove box when you open the glove box.
Likely it is missing by now.
If you contact an ex saturn dealer which still sells saturn parts, you should be able to get one.
Also, a salvage yard with 91-94 saturns may have one as well.
once you have the latch, look at the place where the seatbelt usually stops atth erear of the driver left shoulder, click the latch into the slot there and you now have a manual seatbelt forever.
