  1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  2. Remove rear wheel and tire assembly. NOTICE: Do not pry against brake backing plate. This will bend backing plate. IMPORTANT: If difficulty is encountered removing drum, use a small flat blade screwdriver to turn the star wheel adjuster assembly. Shortening the length of the adjuster will provide sufficient drum-to-shoe clearance for drum removal.
  3. Remove rear brake drum.graphic
  4. On vehicles equipped with ABS, remove wheel speed sensor electrical connector
  5. Remove four wheel bearing/hub-to-knuckle fasteners.graphic
  6. Remove wheel bearing/hub assembly from vehicle.


  1. Install wheel bearing/hub onto vehicle.
  2. Install new wheel bearing/hub-to-rear knuckle bolts.
  3. vehicles equipped with ABS, install wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install brake drum.
  5. Position wheel onto hub.
  6. Install wheel nuts and tighten in a crisscross pattern
