How do you replace the belts on a Mallard 87 motor home

Customer Question

How do you replace the belts on a Mallard 87 motor home coach style.
JA: Which belt are you dealing with? And have you changed one before?
Customer: Alternator belt and no.
JA: What is the model of your '87 RV?
Customer: The model number on the side says 1987 the P/A number is *****
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: My grandson is. I am 73 years old and a woman. We haven't done anything yet, the belt broke on a trip yesterday.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: On this model the belts are under the frame. The radiator etc. is located from the hood, the motor is inside the coach.

You have to replace them from underneath and it is not a fun job. You might want to enlist the help of a good mobile tech for this. Takes some special tools and some patience. Use the old belt number to get the correct one. Hope that proves helpful here. Please get back to me if you need more input here.
