It isn't hard to get off, but hooking it back up with the choke and governor can be a challenge for those who haven't done it before. Do you have the Onan Service Manual for this model? If not, I can grab one for you. Get back to me if you need more input here as all follow ups are included in our fee.

See the attached link for a copy of the Owner's Manual if you don't have one. http://www.rvtechlibrary.com/generator/OnanNHMmanual.pdf

See this trouble shooting guide as it can be helpful as well. http://www.flightsystems.com/pdf/onan-rv-troubleshooing-guide.pdf

I didn't see a free one, but you can purchase one online for about $20 or so.

Expert:  Randall replied 6 months ago.

Payment for that didn't clear..........once it does, we can chat. I am in California so keep any time changes in mind here.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Can I just take the bowl off with carb connected
Expert:  Randall replied 6 months ago.

Yes......but, you need to pay attention to the linkage. Perhaps, you can..........it has been some time since I worked on that model. I think I have one in my shop so I can look in the morning. One of my techs does all my genset repairs.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Can I call you tomorrow while I am looking at carb? I know there is a charge
Expert:  Randall replied 6 months ago.

Sure...........and I don't charge any extra for multiple calls and no time limit!

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Ok thanks I will do that after you get into shop if that's ok if you want to talk to your tech

Now that have checked carb out it runs for a couple seconds and dies what should I check first the oil level is full
Expert:  Randall replied 6 months ago.

This sounds like a fuel pump issue.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
The trouble shooting mentions after it starts for a second or two and shuts off it could be in low oil sensor or oil pressure sensor or something in the some board that's provides voltage to the fuel pump and ignition
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
It seems to be shutting the voltage off that keeps it running
Expert:  Randall replied 6 months ago.

It can be almost any of those. Hard to say and some of these are hard to test.
