thank you but I need the engine serial number. it should be on a tag on the motor

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The only label I could find was a paper label on the upper part of the engine near the back on the left side, as I was facing the front of the engine. It contained a bar code and then, in very small print: 8820092091206 Serial. Is this the number you're needing?
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 1 year ago.

no, it is a 7 or 8 digit number to identify the exact engine you have in the truck.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Where will that label be located?
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 1 year ago.

usually on the valve cover and you can get to it from the left side of the motor.

can you see from under the bed in the engine bay??

Roy

I found this number on a label under the valve cover. I can find no label on the valve cover on either side. Is it a metal label or paper? I had to have a replacement head installed so the label may have been lost. Is the number stamped into the metal or what? I'm lost.
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 1 year ago.

no, it is a paper label on the valve cover.

if you can get your receipt for the head replacement or call the place and ask them for the engine serial number.

Roy

I'm needing the keep costs down and an additional $ is not a good option. Can you attach the information to an email, with illustrations if possible?
