We have an onan generator, won't start and no power going to it ..you can't start it from inside the right now power to it where should I start? Jim

Hello, thanks for requesting me.

The genset should be connected directly to the battery. But sometimes the coach manufacturers put the battery cable on the downstream side of a battery switch.

Make sure the batteries it is connected to are good. It is best to have them load tested. A voltmeter is not a good test of batteries, as even a bad battery can read fully charged with 12V, but not have enough ampacity to do any work.

Make sure your battery switch is turned on, if you have one.

You may need to physically trace down the battery cables to see where they go.

Did you find the problem with it not getting power?
