Customer Question

We have a 2010 Forest River Wildcat 5th wheel, 34ft with 3 slides. We light the stove oven pilot light ok and turn the oven to the desired temperature, but once the temperature is reached not only does the gas heating element go out but so does the pilot light. This means we cannot bake/roast anything that takes more than a 10 minutes or so. Can you help?

That is USUALLY a sign that the LP pressure is too low at the tank regulator. It needs to be checked and adjusted (if needed) at least once a year. Many owners have never had it checked. The other appliances are not as easily affected, but the stove pilot is due to the small amount of LP gas it uses and so if the pressure is too low, it won't stay on. This needs to be adjusted with a manomoeter. One way you can kind of tell if there is a problem is to turn a stove top burner up high and see if there is any yellow or orange in the flame tips. IF SO, then there is a good chance the pressure is low.. Hope this proves helpful here. Please get back to me if you need more as all follow ups are included in our fee. R.J.
