Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.
What are the model and serial numbers of the genset?
.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
serial is(###) ###-####and model is QP-40G
Expert:  Hank F. replied 1 year ago.
QP40G is a family series, not a model number.
But according to yoru serial number, the model number is(###) ###-####
Right behind the oil filter are 2 switches. One of them has 3 wires attached to it (the low oil pressure switch (LOPS)), and the other had 2 wires attached to it (the high oil temperature switch (HOT)).
At the LOPS, 2 of the wires are on the same terminal, and they are numbered 85.
Disconnect these wires from the LOPS, and make sure they can not short to ground.
Disconnect the single wire 85 from the HOT, and make sure it can not short to ground.
Start the genset, and let it run for about 15 minutes.
At 15 minutes, touch the 85 wire to the LOPS. If it shuts down, stop here and let me know.
If it does not shut down, remove wire 85 from the LOPS, and touch it to the HOT. If it shuts down, stop here and let me know.
If it still runs, wait 2 or 3 minutes and do it again.
Keep doing this at 2 or 3 minute intervals until the genset shuts down. Let me know which switch is shutting it down.
