Customer Question

I have a 6cta cummins engine. I changed the fuel filter and had to pump the fuel system to remove the air. But in the process I tried to start the engine several times which cause the batteries to lose power. I have charged them fully. When I try to start it you can hear a click but does not turn over the engine, any suggestions?

Hi I'm Wayne

I will help you with this

measure the voltage at the starter battery cable before

and during starter, sounds to me that you have dirty terminals

I suggest you remove and clean all terminals ,including grounds

on frame and engine

before and during cranking

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't have a meter as I said it clicks thats all. Up to this point you have not answered my question and I cannot give you a meter reading because I don't have one. This "ASK" system does not seem to work to well. Please remove me from your questions system and do not charge me.

Hi
I am sorry you fell that way
You need to remember I am not there to see it
I have to ask questions, to help pin point the problem
if we don't know the voltage at starter ,
it would be a big guessing game,
I will ask them to close your question,
Don't reply or rate me as it locks question back to me
Sorry I could not help
