I have a problem when towing my travel trailer with my 2004

Customer Question

I have a problem when towing my travel trailer with my 2004 GMC 2500HD with a 6.0 V8 gas. Most all the time the coolant temperature is at or near 200, but occationally on a relatively long pull the temp. wil go up to 230 or on a steep pull recently I had to pull over because teh engine coolant hot warning came on the dash. I have had the cooling system flushed, a new thermostate insatlled and nes coolant. Is there an electric fan, or thermostatically controled fan which may be causing the problem. This seems to occure randomly not all the time when pulling or no enev on some hills at all.
