This is a well known problem with Renault Scenic models made between 2004 and 2006. Sadly, the only way to repair this is to have the dashboard replaced.
However, the problem was highlighted on the BBC Watchdog program a few years ago, and because of this, Renault UK have agreed to subsidize the replacement of the electronic dashboard. If you contact Renault customer services, they should be able to advise you of what to do.
