Country: United KingdomMake: RenaultModel: kangoYear: 2002Engine: 1.5dci Already Tried: new accelerater.diagnostic came up with air temp.new sencer fitted
Very common for crank sensor to cause this.. also if the red engine light comes on when it does this, then its a fuel pressure fauly, pump, filter etc....

sorry.i thouht i sent revelent infomation.EU53 HHA ,problem about 1 year old, i had a new oil senser fitted because i had a fault light in dash that sorted that problem, i removed cover over engine which was a bit manky.some time after this hesitation on accellerater pedle started ,i then fitted new pedal no joy with that, next i had it con to computer.which came up with air temp fault, picked van guy said best of luck,no fix.
Hello again Stewart - thank you for your reply.. thats fine..Ok, I have that now - There is a common issue with these Stewart, with two things, one the fuel filter and two, the fuel bleeder bulb, the one you squeeze / pump to bleed the fuel system. Both become porous with age - so if the fuel filter hasn't been changed in a while, do that first and see if that cures it. If not, renew the bulbous unit / hand primer...and nine times out of ten, that wil cure theses such issues.IF you still have problems after that, while normally you would expect and often will get fault codes when such a fault exists, you wont always. Then its no good keep trying to get fault codes, you need to have plug in Live Data testing done. Not all garages have the equipment for this so if it comes to it, you may have to search around - but that then would be the way to find the cause without doubt. Now, if all else fails, the ecu should be re programmed - this has to be done by a Renault garage generally, unless you can find some other garage that has that capability - but that is a little known fix to cure such running issues when all else has been ruled out -as above.
I sincerely XXXXX XXXXX above all helps you and helps with the understanding of the problem you have -and what needs to be done to cure this ... Experience: 34 years of vehicle repair / diagnostics
fuel filter changed, no improvement, have not been brave enough to change bulb unite yet
, have noticed when bulb pressed seem to me fuel in clear lines not solid so is this air.
Hello again Stewart - thank you for your message. Its a little difficult to say without being there Stewart - all I can do is advise on known issues etc - Given its the same, and the common issues with the hand primer -and its relative low cost against other things, thats certainly the next step... So I would do that or have a garage do it - it shouldn't cost much , around a half hour labour ..and then see if that cures it. IF not, it will need proper diagnostics on the injectors etc then Stewart so you do need to do that first as the cost effective way forward - Let me know how you go / if you need..Best Rgds,. MIKE
have purchased bleeder just got to fit.will let you now how it goes.
hi mike, i fitted a used diesal bulb and all pipes .worked well for several days but gradually hesitation returned,im thinking did it take that long for air to seep thro bulb? regards stewart
