Seeking expert testimony is a sign of strength. A personal relationship with a caring professional is proven clinically effective
I believe that I can give you a proper answer to that question.
Drinking alcohol brings about a state of mind called disinhibition. The controls that usually prevent a person from doing or saying things that would be embarrassing, or revealing feelings of anger or resentment or love will flow uninhibited out of the mouth of the person who is under the influence.
Of course this disinhibition can go further and can lead to reckless behavior, be it fights or spending, or sex, or further drinking or other drug taking.
Alcohol is not the only substance that can induce disinhibition. Even certain prescription psychotropic drugs or street drugs can do the same.
I wish you the very best
