Thank you for contacting Just Answer. Let's start with question No. 1
What is your question?
What kind of doctor are you
Are you still there?
I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and two post doctoral certificates in Psychoanalysis. Am a member of the American Psychoanalytic and ofthe International Psychoanaltic Association.
I am a Training and Supervising Analyst at NPAP and at NYFS.
As I said I am a doctoral student in education. I have to interview someone with a doctoral degree. It doesn't matter what kind. I saw you teach students as well.
So what was your research topic when writing your dissertation?
My dissertation topic was:
Destiny: Anatomy and Ego
Sounds interesting. Why was this of interest to you?
How long did it take you from start to finish to complete your dissertation?
As you see from my response before, I am a psychoanalyst. The dissertation topic is a play on Freud's term --- Anatomy is Destiny. Being a feminist, I wrote my dissertation on the fact that our anatomy does predict some of our destiny but that of prevailing importance what influences our destiny is our level of ego development.
Gee, I have to think back. I got my Ph.D. in 1977.
I would say, at least a year.
Do you remember how long it was?
What kind of resources were needed to complete your project?
What challenges did you fact during the completion of your project?
I had sent out some tests Jane Loevinger on levels of ego development and another test Bem Sex Role Inventory. Lots and lots of reading and research --- including everything Freud wrote about women.
I'm not sure I understood your last question.
fact should say "face"
I don't know if I would say that I faced many challenges. I loved doing the research. Maybe, I would say putting together all the research I did and finally sitting down and writing.
Were you raising a family by chance while completing?
I think that will be my challenge. My final question is ..
What recommendations do you have for successfully completing a dissertation?
no, I wasn't raising a family. My first child was born in 1979. Yes, that will be difficult doing a dissertation and raising a family.
My recommendations are --- let that be your priority --- that and your children. You have lots of time to have fun. Get it done.
You won't be sorry!
That's what my professor says "Just get it done" Well, I appreciate your time. I will be sharing your responses in class tonight. Do you have anything else you would like to add?
I wish you well. What city are you in?
Your professor is right. One of my advisors said to me:" Shirley, enough research already. Sit down and write --- Get it behind you. If you want to do some brilliant research and write a book --- finish your dissertation --- get your Ph.D. Then you can write your book."

Write that dissertation.
It seems more daunting than it is.
Get it behind you.
Again, I wish you well.
