Customer Question

I have been a widow for 21 years and recently reconnected with my ex husband, whom I haven't spoken to or seen for 30 years. When we are together we have a wonderful time. His two daughters, from his second marriage live, with him. 18 and 21 years old. I live in another state, but we think we can still have a great relationship. We speak every day at least twice. My problem is he won't allow me to visit his house. He says he doesn't want his ex-wife finding out about us until they have had a property settlement. I think this is ridiculous. They have been seperated for over a year. I think he is terrified of his daughters reactions, but he says that is not so. We have been seeing each other for 3 months now. He never rings me from his house, unless his daughters aren't around. My question is, "am I wasting my time waiting for this man?" I have had several conversations with him about this but it never changes. Help please.

Good Morning,

To address your question if you're wasting your time with him will depend on what your expectations are.

1/ something i the past alerted you to separate

2/ he appears secretive of your current relationship

3/ he did not respect your wish not to call you

4/ he had not given you a definite explanation about his behavior

You really would need some straight forward answer from him (unless you can look at his actions and deduce what is going on)

If your expectations for the relationship do not match his, things may not work out.
