I CAN'T GET MY ROKU TO WORK, I DO NOT KNOW -- HOW DO I FIND

Customer Question

I CAN'T GET MY ROKU TO WORK
JA: What's the make/model number of your device? How old is it?
Customer: I DO NOT KNOW -- HOW DO I FIND OUT?
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 DAYS AGO -- I HAD BEEN WATCHING SOMETHING ON HULU AND THEN SUDDENLY THE ROKU SAID -- IS SAYING THAT IT CAN'T CONNECT TO THE LOCAL NETWORK -- I'VE BEEN USING THIS ROKU FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS
JA: Anything else you want the video expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: DO NOT KNOW BUT DO PLEASE CONNECT ME TO THE EXPERT

Posted by JustAnswer at customer's request) Hello. I would like to request the following Expert Service(s) from you: Live Phone Call. Let me know if you need more information, or send me the service offer(s) so we can proceed.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 18 days ago.

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

First, check whether your local WiFi router is On, showing activity and lights.

Second, check whether your Roku shows as connected to the router... if connected by a cable or network cable or Ethernet cable, remove the cable at each end briefly, then plug it back in firmly.

See if that helps.

Let me know what you find out by trying this, please. Thanks.

I'VE DONE EVERYTHING YOU SAID TO DO AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK
Expert:  Russell H. replied 18 days ago.

1. Is the Roku connected to the router with a cable?

2. Or is it a wireless connection?
