Customer Question

I have a toshiba dual VCR/DVD player. I have had it for many years (I don't remember how long but I think I bought the last one you made!). I am very happy with it except tonight when I tried to play a tape I could not open the tape drawer. Even though every controlled worked from the remote and it was on the VCR setting I still could not open the drawer. I changed batteries , I tried different combinations of turning on TV and then opening VCR. The DVD works fine but I cannot make the VCR drawer open. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have even though I know this is probably not your expertise! A
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your Toshiba? And what operating system are you running?
Customer: Model is SDV398KC2 I have a Mac 0SX 10.10.5
JA: Have you installed any updates recently? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I haven't updated my recorder - ever! I don't use it all that often but when I have it has been great especially for DVD's. I must admit I do not look at tapes that frequently.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I don't think so.
