I recently bought this DVD in HKG back to Australia. I got the problem when I do the software upgrade.
After the downloading from the server, I got this message "Upgrade software failed verification. Insert the correct software. whenever I switch to 'smartTV', I got the downloading software screen and the failed verification and I can't turn off the DVD except to unplug it. Please advise how to fix the problem.

Hi there,

Ensure you are using the USB port on the REAR of the DVD player.

First, extract the upgrade ZIP file contents - it will contain an UPG_ALL folder with a .bin file inside. Just copy that folder to the root directory of your USB stick and try the upgrade again... Be sure that NO disc is in your DVD player at the time. Also ensure that the USB stick does not contain any other files.

Hi Pete, good morning from SYDNEY. I just done what you said. Still failed. The same screen came out "Upgrade software failed verification. Insert the correct software." Please also note that my DVD model is BDP9700/98. May be you can send to me the unzipped folder to try further.

It is only possible to send the folder as a zipped attachment.

The other experts have reviewed this question page, unfortunately they have nothing else to add.

The procedure you are following is correct, so I am not sure why the software is not working for you.

Where did you download it from? Have you tried using a different memory stick?
