I have an Insignia TV NS-F24TV. I have tried to use an Emerson VCR/DVD player model EWD2003, Panasonic 4 Head Hi FI Stereo Omnivision VHS model PV-V4523S, RCA 4-Head Video system model VR525 to play video tapes. The problem is is the same with each player. The tape plays for a while then the screen turns blue then the tape plays for a while then the screen turns blue and so on. I don't have a problem using any dvd player. What can I do to resolve this problem or what type of vcr is compatible with my tv?Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello - maybe I can help.
Can you please tell me what type cables you are using and the inputs / outputs to and from your VHS and the TV - , AND how you currently have the system connected. Are you using RED -YELLOW -WHITE cable to AUX IN on the TV OR are you using the RF (CH3-4) single coaxial cable to the TV's ANTENNA INPUT?
Please advise and thank you for your time.
I replied to this question already and customer service also sent a response to you. the answer again is. I am using the red yellow and white cables the cables are connected to the column on the TV that has a box with an arrow on the left and the number 1 in parenthesis, the cables are connected to the out column on the VCR
Thank you for your response. Do you lose sond as well as the video? How long does the unit play for , and when it does play, does the picture first "fade' and then blue or is it sudden ? Please advise
yes i lose sound . it plays for few seconds then blue it does not fade it just turns blue.
Ok - can you please switch out the existing RCA cables with another set, if possible, to eliminate a simple cable issue. Changing the "Patch Cable" can be effective, also the lenght should not exceed 6' in most cases. Second , you may want to use the S-video cable OR the component inputs on the TV (better picture either way than YELLOW-WHITE-RED composite )
I tried another red yellow white cable , less than 6'- same problem. I don't have component input (red green and black cable). I don't have a place for the S video on my VCR
At this point, it appears the TV input signal strenght from the VHS's source is not being recognized consistantly. Since the S-Vid is not an option, you could try the CH 3 "OUT from the VHS antenna output on the VHS using the coaxial cable, and install it to "ANTENNA IN", CH 3 " on the TV and select TUNER on the TV,CH 3( assuming you are not already using the antenna input on the TV.) If the AV signal strenght from the RCA cables is not "steady" causing the blue screen , this test would confirm and would allow you to test for proper play back. Otherwise , a LINE booster to the TV AV IN may also provide results that would boost the AV signal to a higher level for the TV to stay "locked" longer, if not "for good" . Please advise on the above options, and let me know if you will need further help; Thank you so much for your time and patience.
