All my CDs cannot play it says 'not readable', so I swiped it with q-tip which I think made it worse. It still will not play so I unplugged and restart it. Now th cd will not even go in. What should I do. Please help. Thank you.
Can you get me the model number of the Bose?
Also, how long have you had it for and when did the problem occur?
What exactly did you swipe with a Q tip?
Model AWRCC1Had it for about 7 years It happened recently. Nothing, just swiped it with regular q tip.
Can you tell me "what" you swiped with the Q tip, you've lost me on that part?
Inside where cd goes in.
Thank you for the reply.
So the unit would not play a disc, but would accept a disc before you put the Q tip inside the disc slot?
Are you certain that part of the Q tip is not stuck inside?
The CDs will not play, so I swiped it with Q-tip. CDs still went inside. It was when I unplug and restart it, thats when it will not go in.
Please disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the Eject button, and plug it back in while continuing to hold Eject. Then attempt to insert a disc, do you still have the same problem?
Yes, it still will not go in.
The problem is that the disc mechansim in the Bose Wave has failed and will need to be serviced in order to function properly. There are no resets, or settings that will fix this problem. Bose are the only ones who service their units, and as such are the only ones that can procure parts or access service manuals. On most models over 5 years old, they will not repair but instead will opt to offer you to trade towards a newer model at a discounted price. You can use the link below to contact Bose about a trade up if you'd like:

Would've liked to fix the matter. Could not upgrade the product at the moment. Can you fix it without exchanging it to a newer model?
I thought I had clarified that Bose will not repair units over 5 years old. The reason for this is that parts are no longer available to repair units past that age.
