So the unit would not play a disc, but would accept a disc before you put the Q tip inside the disc slot?
Are you certain that part of the Q tip is not stuck inside?
The problem is that the disc mechansim in the Bose Wave has failed and will need to be serviced in order to function properly. There are no resets, or settings that will fix this problem. Bose are the only ones who service their units, and as such are the only ones that can procure parts or access service manuals. On most models over 5 years old, they will not repair but instead will opt to offer you to trade towards a newer model at a discounted price.
