I cant access saved programs! I press the list button, enter

I can't access saved programs! I press the list button, enter on HDD - the box flickers, disappears and I'm back to the TV screen!

I think the hard drive might be full but can't get in to delete stuff.... HELP

Already Tried:
Pushed every button I can find that I think could help :}
