The open-close button on my TEAC pd-d2610 5-disc cd changer is inoperable. CD's play. Carosel turns. Tray just will not open. Manual suggests unplugging and replugging to "reset". Tried it. Did not work. How now?

There should be a belt that drives the tray to open. There is also a motor, which drives that belt, which drives the tray to open. I suspect the belt because the motor does not get much use and the belts(which are rubber) tend to dry out, get brittle, crack and snap. If you feel comfortable opening the top case and looking inside for a broken belt(looks like a black rubber band), this may be a cheap and easy fix. Unfortunately I cannot tell you where to look. I can tell you to make sure the unit is unplugged from the main power source before disassembly. Let me know your decision.
