Does and land contract have to be notarized
Yes, in 2002 Michigan eliminated the witness requirement for a contract for deed (i.e. land contract) and only requires that it be signed by the parties in front of a notary. Documents executed in Michigan require notary public acknowledgment with signature, county of certification, name of party(s) being acknowledged and expiration date. (MCLA 565.8)
