We have been tenants of a commercial property for the last

Customer Question

We have been tenants of a commercial property for the last 13 years. The Landlord gave us notice 6 months ago to vacate the property as they want to demolish the property. We had a demolition clause in our lease. We were supposed to vacate by the end of this month. However, the new location where we are moving to is not ready. We requested the Landlord to give us an extension of about 10 days. He is refusing and is saying that we have to vacate otherwise he will cut off our power! Can we ask the Court for an injunction? Thank you! *****
JA: Because laws vary from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: We are in the province of British Columbia in Canada. I thought I was also reaching you there.
JA: Has any paperwork been filed?
Customer: Not yet.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that will be all for now. Thanks.

Why is the landlord refusing the extension?
