Bought a condo duplex home. There are just two duplexes

Customer Question

Bought a condo duplex home. There are just two duplexes connected together so we form our own Condo Association for the outside of our connected houses At the closing I was giving a Condo Association Insurance policy from Travelers Insurance. Now a year later I find out my neighbor connected to my house was given a Condo Association policy from State Farm at her closing. These are policies just for the outside. We each have our own homeowers
How can we be a Condo Association as one but have two different policies/companies that insure our association

There is nothing that would require the exterior of each condo to be insured by the same insurer throughout the development. This is purely a matter of choice by the Association and one insurer might have offered a cheaper rate one year and not the next so they switched insurers.

.

The only thing to make sure of is that there actually is coverage. Who provides it is not really important..
