Customer Question

I owned my current residence for 18 years before I was married to my 2nd wife. We had lived there for 28 years before she passed away 2 weeks ago. Now one of her daughters think that they own half of my home. My wifes will gives up her half interest. Am I in danger of losing my home?
JA: Because real estate law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: Washington
JA: Have you talked to a lawyer yet?
Customer: No, I have not
JA: Anything else you think the lawyer should know?
Customer: Not that I can think of

Was she on the deed along with you?

When you say wife gave up her half interest in the will, do you mean she left it to you?
