Customer Question

Can an HOA Board approve a $5,000 assessment without home/condo owners approval?

Hello, I am happy to assist you today.

Yes, as long as the HOA rules and by laws state that they can vote on assessments without a vote of the home owners, they can do so. You should verify that, and if it's not in there, then they do need to include all owners on the vote.

It is typical that the board would vote on something like this alone.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Thanks

Kim
