We signed a lease agreement with one company and a new

Customer Question

We signed a lease agreement with one company and a new company took over. We never signed a new lease with the new company. Now, the new company is charging a different fee for breaking lease. Does the new company still have to honor the original lease especially without us signing a lease under them?

Good afternoon. I am Loren, a licensed attorney, and I look forward to assisting you.If you have a written lease for a fixed term then it is enforceable until the end of the lease term or before, if the parties agree to a modification. They can not unilaterally modify the fees in the original lease while it is still in force.
