Property "A" was awarded to my ex-wife in 2007 divorce but she was unable to refinance and stopped paying mortgage
payment and foreclosed with judgement for $125,000(9/2015). And the property was sold to the lender (WFS) for $108,000 in 12/2015 and the sheriff filed the Writ of Execution on 12/7/2015.
Without any knowledge of the above proceedings, I sold my property "B", and escrow
was about to close 1/2016. Escrow found the lien on my property "B" for the judgement on "A"
Today, I received payoff balance of $130.000.
From sale of property "B" I can only receive $100,000
Logically I thought I could expect $100,000 minus $22,000 = $78,000 from the sale of "B", and go after my ex-wife to recover the $22,000.
Escrow closing date is only 2 weeks away.
I need advise.
