Customer Question

I bought a home at auction. There is a lien on property. I have contacted the lien holder several times to try to pay off the lien. They will not respond because lien is not against me. I own the home, (I am receiving the tax bills, power etc.) They are foreclosing in December. What happens when they foreclose on dead owners relatives? Who owns the home?

Is the home in your name already?

The home is in our name now.

Since the home is in your name now, you would have a right to become a party to any lawsuit affecting the home. You have a right to be heard. Speak to your attorney to see if there is a way you can join in the lawsuit. In most situations, you would be permitted to do so because you have standing as the homeowner.
