Customer Question

Im going through a mortgage modification and now it's at the title stage. Although I have a quit claim deed filed with the county, stating my exwife give up all rights and responsibilities to the property, the title specialist says the description on the quit claim deed is abrievated and should be worded like the long version on the title. My ex wife leaves New York to live in California tomorrow. What can I do to amend or change the document?

Is this the title company or bank requesting the change?

Expert:  Loren replied 1 year ago.

The easiest thing to do is to prepare a new quitclaim deed, before your wife leaves, with the full legal description and record it.
