The electric company put in a new electric pole on our

Customer Question

The electric company put in a new electric pole on our property and the new poles are much taller than the old poles. This is on a mountain where the people have views and the poles and the wiring is going to destroy the view. The old poles didn’t interfere with the view so it’s obviously not necessary to have the new poles that tall. What recourse do we have? We need help immediately before they install the wires.

Welcome and thank you for your question. I will be the professional that will be assisting you.
Was the pole placed in an area on your land where the utility company has an easement?
Please do not cut the pole as that would be an issue if the utility company has an easement and there are no height restrictions.
Where in New York is your property located? Do you have a survey or a title insurance policy so we can check for an easement?
