on there I just purchased a newly constructed condo. We got the occupancy permit about a month ago and moved in soon thereafter. Today I got the bill for the summer taxes, and we are being billed for the full tax assessment from January1. Is there no proration
for the tax bill that reflects our brief ownership?

In your contract what was stated regarding tax prorations?

There was no proration clause in the purchase contract- this was new construction. I got the tax bill from the City

Even for new construction there should be a proration or reproration agreement. Are you sure there was nothing about real estate taxes addressed in either the contract or at the closing?
