If the writ of possession has already been issued, that likely means that the appeal time frame has passed and there is no way at this point to stop an eviction unless the landlord voluntarily agrees to do so. The sheriff would be legally obligated to physically remove the tenant if the landlord doesn't agree to an alternative resolution.
