All units are being assessed $5000.00 and all unit balconies are being repaired we are the only unit to seek mediation base on info given.
The building is 22 yrs old there is damage on the wrap of the balcony that needs to be repaired which could be considered structural and the new miracote surface to be placed on the balcony to prevent seepage into the balcony to prevent future damage
Thank you for the clarification. Binding arbitration may be the only next step if they are unwilling to compromise, The argument should be that it is structural flaw in the design, therefore not the individuals owner's responsibility. Have you and the other unit owner's hired a different contractor to inspect the balconies and provide an opinion? $5,000 is a significant charge per owner.
Apparently there were repairs done to the balcony exterior years ago which been subpar and now must be repaired. It is not a design flaw. The assessment was approved by the owners and includes new exterior to the entire ocean side of the building. $2500 is for the balcony only.
