My home has been foreclosed upon. The bank attorney said I am not allowed to take the refrigerators with me. The units slide into standard size opens in the cabinetry, and are not hard wired.

If the refrigerators are not free standing and instead fit into cabinetry, they are called fixtures and are part of the home. Accordingly, the attorney is correct and you cannot remove them.
