Thanks so very much, and when you have a chance, check the comment I wrote in the feedback box/ Your communications are clear as a bell(I'm a Psychologist. I should know something like that) and the extra information you provided was very much appreciated. What are disovery requests and can you guestimate until when you will be online tonite and tomorrow?
Hi,You're welcome and thank you. I'm glad I could help. I don't anticipate being online much longer tonight. Tomorrow, I should be online most of the day until about 4 pm EST.Discovery requests come in multiple forms - one of the most common would be a request for production of documents, if you wanted the landlord to produce a copy of the original lease (if you needed it for some reason), or any documentation related to your claims against her and your defenses.Another very common type of discovery is Interrogatories, where the tenant can actually present questions to the landlord related to the claims or defenses. Here's one example. It's intended for use in Chicago, but it gives you a general idea of what types of questions are asked in eviction cases. This site has some discovery forms:http://www.uslegalforms.com/new-york/The other one that you might see commonly is a Request for Admission. If you can make it to a law library, they'll have examples. A tenant's rights organization would have some general ones that you can use. Or, you can do an internet search for each type of request with "New York eviction" or something like that.
