i am going through a divorce and can only afford a one bedroom apartment that includes a living room dinning room one bathroom and kitchen. am i able in the state of nebraska to house myself and my two children (daughters) their?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: Nebraska
Yes legally you can all live there in that small area, however the judge may not allow you. The judge will look at the "best interests of the children" when deciding custody. If your ex spouse has a larger living area and is just as good with the kids, then the judge could allow the children to live with the ex spouse. However, with that being said, the size of the home is not as important as the parent in charge of that home. So long as the children are safe and cared for, then the judge will not penalize you for living in a smaller residence.Good luck!
is there a law in nebraska that prohibits a family of three living in a one bedroom apartment
Not so long as it is you and your children. If it were a grandparent or some other family member then there is, but you can have 3 people share one room if you are immediate family.
