Question

Our Llhasa (about 3 1/2 years old) began to be lethargic about 3 days ago. Stopped eating and drinking. Had mucous and blood in fecal matter; diarrhea-like. Began to have no strength; couldn''t jump up onto chairs or sofa like he usually did. Ceased to move much. Now, he is having trouble walking; back legs particularly left one, don''t seem to be able to support him and he can''t make them walk very well. He yelps w/pain when we pick him up most of the time. I have kept him hydrated w/a medicine dropper. I have been able to get him to eat mixture of cream of rice cereal and strained turkey baby food. He has been on a constant diet of Iams dry food up until now.   Vet. found no indication of illness (despite the serious illness symptoms) in any tests she did (blood work, fecal labwork, urine clear, in x-ray, she only questioned the appearance of one of the spinal disks. She says that it is probably not his food (Iams dry) because it has been too long, but I''m not sure.
