Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer. The requirements for fencing can depend on your location. Most localities have in their local building codes something similar to that "the finish side of the fence should be facing away from the property", fences along property lines be placed so the nicer or "finished" side of the fence (the side that does not show the structural bracing) faces outward, or "The posts shall be to the inside unless the fence appears the same on both sides."
