when I put my key into the 2 position at my BMW X5, 2006, all lights goes on once and all went off one by one, except the message service engine soon, and the symbols of oil tank and the battery. They only went off when i start the engine. Does that mean there is some problem? Another problem is the engine runs very rough at the stop sign when I step on the break, sometimes the steer-wheel is shaking and my hands feel numb. Are they related to each other?

The warning lamps are operating correctly...they would signal a problem if the lamps come on when you are driving. The shaky idle, on the other hand, may be the sign of a faulty ignition coil on one of the cylinders...which is common to these, i've also seen cases of defective spark plugs causing a minor engine missfire. There are some vacuum connections for the ventillation system that also detereiorate under the engine cover that causes a shaky idle as well.
