Hello XXXXXX,
Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer. One solution would be to put up your own fence running along their fence. This could make it hard for them to get to the 2 foot of the property that they believe to be their property. Was the property surveyed when the fence was installed? If not doing so might prove that they do not have the 2 foot or could prove they own more. Was a permit issued. If not the fence could have to be removed. Many locations require these. I do understand your situation. Perhaps plant some shrubs along the fence and they would be responsible for trimming any that grew over their property. I am not sure what solution would be the best in your case but I am sure that you could make the 2 foot very difficult for them to access without coming on your property. How about a pit bull chained in your yard.
