Internal Bleeding

For last four months have had black stool (now tarr black)...it comes and goes, sign of bleeding somewhere, probably intestinal. Feel fine, no anemia, weakness or nausea. Food digests well. Will this require surgery?

There is a strong possibility that you will require surgery, since there is bleeding going on somewhere in your gastrointestinal tract. It most certainly calls for a physical examination and diagnosis. There are new scanning methods and swallowed-miniature-camera methods that may let you avoid an unpleasant colonoscopy, but by all means see a doctor.
