Start trying 1/4 tsp of Maalox in the early evening...see if it helps. Sometimes these guys go on Tagamet or Pepcid as well.

I don't know how often these symptoms are arising. If it is almost daily...then she should just start a routine...if less frequent, she can wait.
I had a dog that it happened every 10-12 days. So, when I noticed the dog going to the grass I used it to stop the progression.
How to give it...your options are liquid and squirt in the mouth or pill and quartering it up. There are options of hiding and so forth, but the owner has to determine the best option for that dog. Very few dogs just take the medicine...but if you get the liquid and syringe it in to the side of the mouth, hopefully the dog will swallow.
If it is to hard, then the pills may have to be an option.
