Question

I live in Colorado and I was served a supeana for a DV case with my X boyfriend. I tried my best to avoid and dodge the DA Investigator but he tracked me down and served me. When the date of the trial came up it ended up being continued so the defendant could hire counsel, and I would like to know if the supeana that was served to me for the first date carries on to the new trial date or if they are required to serve me new papers?

Answer

Dear XXXXXXXX,

You are not necessarily required to have a new subpoena, as when you were in court, and it was continued or postponed, you were given the postponement date. If no date was given, then you may recieve a notice form the court in the form of a subpoena or other communication telling you of the new date.
