Question

cockapoo around 20 pounds ate a deer bone yesterday. today acts like back end hurts has not had a bowel movement that i know of. cries when he walks up steps or down . will not let you touch his back hip or tail area? what do you think.

Hi,

I would suggest bringing him into your vet as soon as possible. Bones can splinter and may cause a bowel obstruction. The quicker this is taken care of the less damage will likely occur. This sounds as though it is an obstruction. Your vet will likely do a physical exam and X-Ray and treat from there. I hope your little guy is doing better soon. -Robyn
