Last September 27, I adopted a long haired black cat who was estimated to be 11 yrs. old. I had him examined the next day and was told by my vet he was a lot older than 11. His eyes are clouded over and teeth worn down. The most distressing thing is he has a very wobbly gait. He will easily fall over and cannot jump up on anything. Could he have an inner ear problem. Do cats have a semi-circular canal that governs balance such as we do? My vet put him on Glucosamine and Chondroitin and this hasn't helped him. Should I look in other causes? My vet has him on comfort care. Thank you for your thoughts.
