Is this an electric or gas water heater?
Where does the water seen to be coming from? Out of the bottom or the pipes attached to it?
Most likely if the water heater is leaking from the bottom, the tank has rusted through and replacement is the only option. If the water is coming from the Pressure relief valve and water is coming from the pipe attached to it the valve may need to be replaced. If there is not a lot of water leaking out of the water it should be fine until you can have it replaced or replace it yourself tomorrow. Most water heaters have a cut off on top of them that will allow you to turn the water off to keep it from leaking more water. Many localities require a permit to install the water heater and inspection of the insulation is required.
